Flowers, from any perspective, have a powerful presence and mesmerizing beauty. Their perceived serenity… the grace of petals and stems...the explosions of color against color...sometimes a delicate, ethereal quality…the subtleties of light on petals as they are opening.
A new, different and wonderful vision appears when one looks through a close-up lens. Shapes, lines, patterns and textures are emphasized. Colors, unseen from a distance, become intense and captivating. In some, the light seems to glow from within beaconing into a mystical world. Focusing even more closely, any sense of scale or distance is diminished and one is left to their own imagination.

Wow this is just brilliant! It is hard to believe those are real flowers and its my dream to take photographs like this. Computer graphics may play some role but its all about human talent.

It is very hard to compete with people in this field nowadays. But the way you are handling it makes other look like armatures. It is very evident that you are trying to put all of your efforts to the best of use.

Aphra,

Thank you again for the wonderful abstracts. I send students here who make terrible, out of focus images, to show them what can be done.
